Site Engineer (Graduate Programme)

DGS is proud of its status as an industry leader and wants to play its role in training the next generation of ground and soil engineers.   As such we operate a Site Engineer Graduate Programme for recent graduates in related fields.  Over the course of the programme our engineers will gain a good footing in the skills needed in today’s industry.  We also support our engineers in gaining qualifications required for a career in construction.

Our engineers gain skills in:

  • On site testing and certification
  • Geotechnical and modelling software
  • Commercial engineering skills
  • Knowledge of UK construction  practices

Candidates will be recent graduates in courses including: geotechnics, geology, geoenvironmental studies, engineering or similar.

Salary and benefits package is very competitive for the sector.  The role requires mid-week travel and is located dependant on current projects.

Quantity Surveyor

Duties will include:

• Preparing tender and contract documents, including Bill of Quantities

• Undertake cost analysis

• Perform risk, value management and cost control

• Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks

• Allocating work to sub-contractors

• Providing advice on contractual claims

• Valuing completed work and arranging payments

• Responsible for 2-5 sites (£10,000-£2.0m)

Key skills required:

• Software applications

• Good communication skills

• Commercial awareness

• Team work

• Flexible attitude

• CSCS competency card

• Full driving licence

Senior Geotechnical Engineer

We are currently seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead our engineering department.  The successful candidate will be an established engineer with experience of working  in construction or a related field.    They will also be familiar with geotechnical software and hold advanced qualifications in geotechnics or related fields.

Duties will include:

  • Design of pile mats
  • Design of retaining walls
  • Design of foundation solutions
  • Reporting to Directors
  • Project completion reporting

Experienced blade operators

To operate Komatsu D61 & D65 PXi intelligent bulldozers.

GPS-aided experience preferable.

Must hold valid tickets and be willing to travel and work away.

Day rate dependent on experience + fixed overnight lodge allowance.
